چکیده

an in vivo experiment was conducted to determine the effect of dietary betaine supplementation (betafin®) as a replacement for methionine on broiler performance and carcass characteristics. in a completely randomized design (crd) with five treatments of betaine levels (at 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% in replacement for methionine) and five replicates of 10 birds/replicate, two hundred fifty-day-old ross broiler chicks were randomly distributed in cages and fed the experimental diets from 0 to 49 days of age. feed and water were provided ad libitum. feed intake and body weight were recorded weekly. at 49 days of age, one bird from each replicate was killed for comparison of carcass characteristics. betaine replacement for methionine had no effect on feed intake and feed to gain ratio but decreased body weight gain at 0 to 3 (p

Poultry No. 1573 The replacement value of betaine for DL-methionine and Choline in broiler diets

Especially in times of high raw material prices as a result of limited availability of feed ingredients nutritionist look for ways to keep feed cost as low as possible. Part of this discussion is whether certain ingredients can be replaced by others while avoiding impairments of performance. This discussion sometimes includes the question whether supplemental methionine can be replaced by betai...

Effect of Encapsulated Choline Chloride on Performance, Carcass Characteristics and Some Blood Parameters in Broiler Chicks

This study examined the effects of various levels of dietary encapsulated choline chloride (ECC) on growth performance, carcass characteristics, serum and liver lipids content in Ross 308 broilers. A total of 480 day-old broilers were assigned to eight dietary treatments with six replicates of 10 birds each from 1 to 21 days of age. Eight experimental diets were provided from a basal non-added ...

Bioavailability comparison between herbal methionine and DL-methionine on growth performance and immunocompetence basis in broiler chickens

BACKGROUND:Herbal methionine can be compared relative toDl-methionine with evaluation of bioavailability of this source ofmethionine. OBJECTIVES: An experiment was carried out todetermine the relative bioefficacy of herbal methionine (H-Met)®relative to DL-methionine (DL-Met) on performance criteria andimmunocompetence of Met sources in male broilers. Atotal of 160male broilers were fed a Met-d...

Effect of Diet Dilution in the Starter Period on Performance and Carcass Characteristics of Broiler Chicks

The effect of energy and protein dilution in the starter period (8 to 14 days) of age, on performance and carcass characteristics of 360 Arian male chicks was studied in a completely randomised design. This experiment consisted of 6 treatments, 4 replicates, with 15 chicks per replicate. In order to dilute the diets six levels (0, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20) percent of ground wood charcoal was used. ...

effect of betaine on performance and on carcass characteristics of broiler chicks in response to water salinity stress

the effect of saline water and dietary betaine on growth performance of 576 male broiler chicks from 11 to 42 days of age, and on carcass composition (percentages of carcass, sartorial, breast, liver, abdominal fat and heart) of a sub sample of 96 birds was studied in a crd experiment. three dose levels of sodium chloride (0, 1000 and 2000 mg/l) and 4 levels of betaine (0.000, 0.075, 0.150 and ...
